I use a technique that has taken me 3 years to develop and THOUSANDS of tips tested as I made tweaks that were helpful and unhelpful. Soon I will be publishing a book explaining the method and how to tune it for place vs win selections. THESE tips are the win version, We find (mainly) selections between $4.50 and $9 that are 3rd favourite and 4th favourite and pass 4 filters. At these prices, many punters are missing the value of these runners that are outsiders and are being overlooked by perhaps half the punters who fixate on "shiny" favourites and 2nd favourites. If I can't find a value play, then as a lower priority I pick 2nd favourites that pass the filters. So what you get is a "lumpy" capital curve - a system that is more focused on profit over the medium term than a consistent strike rate. (I have settings that do that and will be in the book, but it's too boring for my punting style and preference:)

Don Quixote is a wonderful old book about a proud and honourable misfit who inhabits a fantasy world where he lives his life as a brave knight slaying dragons and saving maidens in distress. On his travels andbizarre adventures he is accompanied by his loyal friend Sancho Panza, who knows Don is a well-intentioned fool. Sancho never tries vey hard to change Don's heroically deluded world view, but also never abandons him. It is a story of trying to be your best and biggest self in the face of all the evidence and odds, of loyalty, and of fun. There should be, I think, a little bit of Don Quixote in all of us; and if we are very lucky or blessed we will have a friend like Sancho to pick us up when we fall.
